VIJAY ANNA's "APPIDU PODU" GOES TO BOLLYWOOD

Vijay’s charbuster song ‘Appidu podu…’ from Gilli, which drew the national attention a few years ago, is going to Bollywood. The popular song is now being retuned for a forthcoming Hindi film, which is produced by actor Sonu Sood.

Sources say that Sonu Sonu, who danced for ‘Kalasala…’ with Silambarasan and Mallika Sherawat in Osthi, has acquired the rights of the song. He has assigned the original composer, Vidya Sagar to retune the number to suit the taste of the Bollywood audience.

Sonu Sood has confirmed the news and has said that the song has impressed him. Talking about roping in Mallika Sherawat for the song, the popular on-screen baddie claims that their chemistry worked well in ‘Kalasala’, which made him to rope her in for the number.

The original song was sung by Krishna Kumar Kunnath and Anuradha Sriram and the Hindi version would be crooned by Mika and Sunidhi Chauhan. Vidya Sagar has already started reworking on the song and he is reportedly retaining some parts of ‘Appidu podu…

NANBAN MUSIC ON FULL STRING

Despite his hectic schedule for his musical tour, Harris Jeyaraj is keen to complete the scores for Shankar’s Nanban. While Shankar is on his foot to complete the film at the earliest, Harris is at rapid pace to finish the songs. Actually Shankar intended to launch the audio of the film during the first week of December. This made Harris to expedite the songs before going on for the background score.

The mood is upbeat in the camps of Shankar as he is grabbing work from the technicians on post-production. Under these circumstances, Shankar has double mind to put off the release of Telugu version, 3 Rascals. He is more confined to the Tamil version first so that he can take leave off the shooting. He was quoted as saying that after finishing Endhiran, he straightaway proceeded with Nanban. This was in contrast to his habit of enjoying a long gap between movies.
